I'm Not Stupid

I was suppose to have graduated already, you see...

After all, it has been 5 years here, and I should have done all the, let's-take-photos-at-the-exam-hall, keep-in-touch-im-gonna-miss-u, cries-a-little-hug-u-bye, tq-lecturers-4-letting-me-pass, bye-utp-aka-shithole, pack-mah-bags-n-go stuff.

But NO! Nope no no... I'm still here. Surprise surprise~~

Because my university suddenly decided to keep us for a little while longer... for another 3-4 more months to be exact, because we need to extend 1 more semester, because my university made a mistake by having 1 less sem... sounds incredulous? Well... it's more or less something like that, and it's boring, you don't want to know anyway, so just accept it that we are being extended for 1 more semester.

So our batch is like the longest ever undergraduate students in UTP history... as in the whole batch ok... don't argue with me.

It's nice and all that, not that hectic and I get to stay around do nothing and still get some pocket money each month, so I'm not complaining.

But it's not the same for my friends and relatives back home. 

You see, I came back during Chinese New Year, and they are like.. Ohhh... you're graduating soon right, this June?

And I say, oh.. no... extend 1 more sem, till Sept.

And they are like... what?? 

I can see the thought that crosses their minds. 

She failed! Lousy, stupid, haha... need to extend sem.

Then I have to like... explain a little, everyone needs to extend, the whole batch, not only me...

It's a delicate art.

I have to balance between the lines of explaining a little and make them understand and not going over the edge and start making them think that I know what you are thinking you think I'm stupid and I have to extend 1 more sem but I'm not stupid it's just that everyone has to extend sem so it's not only me so don't give me that look.

So I just want to say I'm not stupid. 

And it sounds incredulous that a university is extending 1 more sem for 1 whole batch of students, but that's what it is, and it only happens to my batch which is kind of special. All in all, my batch is the most unique batch in history where our final year takes more than 1 year, so it's not only me okeh... everyone, and I mean everyone has to extend. So all the auntie and ah mahs back hometown don't give me that look whenever I say I haven't graduate yet. I no fail fail, it's my course haven't finish yet!

Anyway, a look at my university which me adores~~ 

Stupid University makes me feel stupid everytime I tell people I haven't grad after so long. Stupid.
